It’s August, so we have a plethora of Street performers have descended on to Edinburgh for our entertainment purposes. I’ll post some pictures over the next few weeks. Below shots taken 4th August and 11th August

Play With Fire
Edinburgh festival fringe 2018 street performers
Living in Edinburgh it’s easy to forget that during the month of August, right on your doorstep the largest arts festival in the world is being played out. it’s nice to take some time and wander through the high street to watch some street performers . – or try to, it gets extremely busy.
But they must make decent money, traveling from Australia, Canada, Europe.. That’s not cheap
perhaps I should give up the IT gig, and start juggling stuff on the street corner.
But it’s never August until you see Whips, Chains, Fire and weird contraptions in the city centre
Edinburgh Festival 2017
The Edinburgh festivals have only but a few days left, hopefully you managed to get out and enjoy it.
amongst the plethora of street performers this guy plied his trade between the Old Town Venues. A bloke called Tony Roberts from Australia, who emulated the sensational escape acts of Harry Houdini.
Only Edinburgh during August is it perfectly normal to find people Eating fire, juggling machetes on a uni cycle, or perhaps sandwiched between beds of nails and or course wrapped in chains between a tennis racquet.
More Photos will follow later.. maybe.. 😉
Brick City – Riddle’s Court
This is a quirky wee thing, in Edinburgh for the Festival Brick City @ Riddle’s Court (found at the back of Riddle’s Close) (venue 277)
it’s for kids, but the Close has been decorated in Lego info here Looks great!
Edinburgh Festival Fireworks concert 2016 – A wee Album
Here is a small album from last Mondays fireworks concert, 30 photos
taken from Castle street, Thankfully I arrived an hour before it all began, thus getting a pretty good vantage point. This was my first attempt at shooting fireworks.
Edinburgh Festival Fireworks
And that’s it for 2016 – Haste ye back 2017
The culmination of the festival is a spectacular pyrotechnic fireworks concert…. the sky lights up in time to music from the Scottish Chamber Orchestra from, this all takes place from the castle, it can be heard and seen from many places across the city
I have never attempted firework photos before, I did take many, oh so many!! 😉 I’ll upload a wee album soon as I can
Edinburgh Festival 2016 – Street Performers
The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is over for 2016!
During the month of August you will find a plethora of street performers around the city centre plying their trade. Juggling fire seems to be one of the more popular acts, (I always think that juggling fire in Scotland is rather optimistic, as it does rains a lot) but some are more daring juggling dangerous weapons including chainsaws and machetes. Unfortunately I only had the ooomph to get out and take photos towards the end. Below is a small gallery of the performers that graced the streets of Edinburgh in August 2016.
Interestingly something else happened! The middle of the festival a Saturday afternoon I managed to walk the length of the High Street without being offered a single flyer, even after making eye contact. Many will call me a liar, but it did indeed happen…. perhaps they just though there goes the grumpiest man in Edinburgh? 😉
Edinburgh Festival 2016 – Nothing To See Here
Nothing to see here… Move along
the Fringe Festival of 2016 is all but over… see you in 2017
large photo album will be available soon….
Edinburgh Festival 2016 – Axe Fire Juggler
During the month of August, you will see many wonderful street performers on the Royal Mile…. Many, oh so many who juggle with fire, some make it more interesting not just juggling the normal fire sticks, but with nasty weapons. This fella was juggling a axe on fire and a few machetes.
