The 2014 programme for the Edinburgh international film festival has been launched

EIFF 2014 runs from 18 to 29 June. This year EIFF will showcase 156 features from 47 countries, including 11 World premieres, 8 International premieres, and a range of special screenings and events.

The Festival strands include our classic strands from Animation to Shorts to the Director’s Showcase, as well as new additions like Films on Film, Wicked and Wild, and a new take on Teen Spirit from our EIFF Young Programmers team.

With a rich and diverse programme of films and events, Edinburgh International Film Festival continues to bring the very best in cinema to Scotland’s capital.

As previously announced, this year’s programme opens with our Opening Night Gala, the World Premiere of British crime thriller Hyena, directed by Gerard Johnson with award-winning producers Stephen Woolley (Made in Dagenham, The Crying Game), Elizabeth Karlsen (Great Expectations, Ladies in Lavender) and Joanna Laurie.
