The floral clock for 2017 is complete, this year it commemorates the Scotsman newspaper bicentenary. It’s an actual working clock, with a new design each summer. see the bird house, every hour a wee cuckoo pops out and does her calling. – it’s awfy nice 😊 (you can find this in West Princes Street Gardens next to The Mound entrance)

This is the Edinburgh flower clock for 2016, this has been a feature of west Princes street gardens since 1903. This year it is designed to honour Scotland’s architects
Edinburgh’s Floral Clock
Edinburgh’s Floral Clock is located in West Princes Street Gardens. (below the statue of Alan Ramsey, opisite the national gallery) This is an actual working clock, it may be the oldest of its type on the world first commissioned in 1903. Every spring they replant the flowers with a new design so that its ready for the summer.
Edinburgh’s floral clock has a circumference of 36ft and width of almost 12ft, with the hands measuring approx. 11ft and 5ft in length
This year it will celebrate the tenth anniversary of Edinburgh as a Fair Trade city.
